In 1996, Georg Vithoulkas, a well know lay homeopath, won the alternative Nobel Price or the right livelihood reward “for his outstanding contribution to the
revival of homeopathic knowledge and the training of homeopaths to the highest standards”. The reward made the German population even more aware of alternative treatment methods.
